Bitcoin broke record over USD 28,000

The main cryptomoney in the market, Bitcoin, broke a record. Currently, the leading currency is trading above USD 28,300.

After it seemed to take a couple of days to catch its breath after its weekend record, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) once again resumed its torrid ascent. Bitcoin broke a record above USD 28,000, setting a new all-time high of USD 28,579 on Wednesday morning.

BTC broke the previous record of USD 28,352 set less than 72 hours earlier. Moments before falling back to USD 27,772.

Institutional investors are perceived to be driving this unprecedented streak. Meanwhile, with the end of the year approaching, some fund managers may also be buying BTC. Even more so now, when Bitcoin broke a record.

Russell Okung became the first NFL player to receive payments at BTC

Russell Okung, offensive player for the Carolina Panthers, became the first NFL player this week to receive part of his Bitcoin pay for terms of his contract.

The fact that Okung received part of his payment in digital currency was made possible by Zap. A Bitcoin application founded by Jack Mallers, which will take the player’s checks and convert them into BTC. According to Yahoo Finance, the Panthers‘ offensive tackle will have half of its annual salary of USD 13 million in the cryptomat.

This choice doesn’t come out of the blue for the NFL player. In May 2019, Okung expressed through his Twitter account his wish to be paid in Bitcoin. He updated that message yesterday, reporting that he finally received his payment in digital currency.

Indian cryptobank opens first physical location in Jaipur

The world’s first physical encryption bank was launched in India and will allow users to make transactions in both crypto and fiat currencies through a single account.

United Multiestate co-op society or Unicas, an online crypto-bank, will open its first physical branch in Jaipur and deploy 14 more branches in NCR, Rajasthan and Gujarat by January next year.

Through a joint venture with the Cashaa online banking platform and the United Multistate cooperative society. Unicas also plans to open 100 more branches by 2022.
